I did it.

I went for a walk today....big deal you say...well I had to cross a busy road to get anywhere interesting and the cars here go flat out on the wrong side (to me) of the road. I found myself waiting on the kerb till there was not a car in sight before crossing. I think it was worth it but I am not too sure Kic will agree. You see I had the time of my life buying for my mini granddaughter 3pr pants, 1 sloppy joe and 5 t-shirts all for less than $5 (aussie) each. There are sales everywhere here because of the change of seasons plus today the shop I was in had an extra 10% off and I think the cashier gave me a bit more cause I am an Aussie visitor. I will have to try another store for my big granddaughter. It seems she must be a popular size/age cause there was not much available for her. To tell you the truth there was some things but they were horrible colours and too tizzy for my beautiful girl.
There has been a big change in the weather here. The sun is shining, the sky bright blue and the temp is in the 20s, absolutely beautiful. I have been here 5 times before and this is the best weather I have ever seen. My first 2 visits were in the middle of winter and there was snow everywhere. The next visit with my kids was the middle of summer and it was hot and muggy. The 4th visit was in Autumn and the temp was dropping quickly and a coat was needed here and hat, gloves and thermal undies were needed when we went up to Washington (state) and Canada.
One thing that has always been the same for each visit is that the locals are very friendly. It is only a small town by the US standard with about 100,000 people. There are more restaurants/eateries than we will be able to try in the 3 1/2 weeks we are here. Oh by the way we are in Longview East Texas between Dallas and the Louisiana border.
It is about 3.40pm Wednesday 21 Feb.
