Yes I know I have been a bit lax but I am pleased to say we have been busy. Since my hospital visit we have been to Muswellbrook twice. Our winter woollies got a good work out, it is cold down south. We were there when the area flooded and Newcastle had the tanker get a bit too close for comfort. What is normally a 3 hour trip from Muswellbrook to Sydney took us 7 hours of stop, start and wading through water. When we did arrive in Sydney it was to find the power was out at Mum's so we had dinner in the dark. The power eventually went on the next day and you should have seen the stampede to put the kettle on for a hot cup of coffee. The rain and wind did not let up till Monday when we had to make our way back to the Hunter Valley. The only hold up on the return trip was when a farmer had to move his cattle from one flooded paddock to a less flooded paddock on the other side of the road. The area was a mess and I feel very sorry for the poor folk who had their houses go under water.
Kic is very busy at work. The company is in the process of putting a land rig together in Innamincka (1200km west of Brisbane on the Qld/SA border). Way out in the never never with not much there. It looks as if there will be 3 more rigs and they also have 10 loaders/dozers to put together. So it will be heads down and butts in the air for the next 12 months.
Last weekend we attended Tony's 40th Birthday party. Jen organised a Barbie and Ken themed party so we all had to go dressed as our favourite doll. I went as Princess Barbie (of course) and Kic went as Western Ken. Jen was a very lovely Barbie all dressed up in hot pink and tulle and Tony was Ken still in his box. Our other daughter went as a very lovely 70's doll and Brad made a fine skateboard Ken. I don't know if any of these characters existed but they did on Saturday night. When it came time for Tony to say his thank yous he surprised all of his friends by announcing his engagement to Jen. They actually got engaged on Thursday night and it was very hard keeping it a secret till the weekend.
Next week I hope to return to school for my volunteer work in the library. I have only managed to go twice this year. After 15 years doing it I think a bit of long service leave is allowed.
Now that I am up to date I must go and do some housework, or I might just go and read my book.

If it's a choice between house work or reading a book, I think I would choose the book. ;-)
Great to see you on sat night!
