Oops, I forgot my password.

It has been so long since this blog was updated I had forgotten my password. This is not surprising as everything you do now has a password or pin number and sometimes they get muddled up. I have been known to use the wrong pin on my account and left wondering why no money would come out of the hole in the wall.
The past few months have been quiet here with only 2 trips to Sydney. The first one was for the Mining Show at the Sydney showgrounds in Homebush. We flew to Sydney on Thursday 6 September and after checking into the Rydges at Rose Hill (out near Parramatta) we went to the show to have a wander around. We did not see very much as every time we went around a corner we would run into some one Kic knows and we would just have to have a chat (who said women talk a lot?). I suppose the whole idea of the show is to see new equipment and to network, boy did Kic do some networking. Friday Kic dressed up in his "show shirt" and we spent most of the day on the company's stand with a lot more networking. After the general public were shown the exit door and everyone was packing up their stand a friend and I went around to see what goodies we could cadge. As no one likes to pack they were only too pleased to
give to us. We came away with enough pens to last a lifetime, hats, stubby coolers, gadgets etc. It was not till later we realised we had to pack everything ourselves to fly home. Kic and I solved our problem by leaving our goodies out at Mum's place to be retrieved on our next trip in the car.
Saturday we spent at the showgrounds waiting for a path to be cleared so the dozer could be driven outside to be dismantled. It was not until about 3ish that this could be done and as Kic had the pleasure of driving the machine I grabbed the small space in the cab for a ride. Don't tell anyone but Kic has a talent for parking. He can put the largest machine in the smallest of places with the greatest of ease. Now this dozer is huge it is about 11 metres long, 6 metres wide and 7 metres high (weighs about 115 tonnes and it is the smallest machine Kics company make). Kic managed to get the machine out without running over anything and make a u-turn in the drive way outside. Very impressive and I enjoyed the ride. Before we left for the day the boys dropped the blade from the machine and left everything ready for a big day on Sunday.
The boys worked hard dismantling the dozer into pieces that could be moved on Sunday and Monday was spent making sure everything was secure and ready to loaded onto the trucks next morning.
Tuesday was full of dramas. When we arrived at the showground the cranes and crew had been waiting a couple of hours and there was no sign of the truck that was to carry the dozer to Karratha in WA. We found out later that Sydney has restrictions on when very large trucks can be on the roads and peak hour is one of those times. The truck trailer had 10 rows of 8 tyres plus 2 rows of 8 under the dolly plus 10 on the prime mover which equals 106 tyres all up. Can you imagine having to change a flat. Apparently the driver expects to have to change at least 5 tyres a day to cross Australia. It was the first time the driver had driven this particular truck and he had a hard time backing it (I suppose it did not help that there were about 30 people watching). Once the truck was loaded it had to be left where it was as once again restrictions came into play and it could not move till 3am the next day and then only to a staging yard until it could be moved on Thursday. We left Homebush for the airport and the trip home.
In between all of this we managed to make two trips out to see Kic's mum and sister and party with Kics workmates so it was a very enjoyable and interesting trip.
I will do the next trip later as it is now way past lunch time.
